Privacy-Policy

At BoxyBSD, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a secure experience
while using our services. This Privacy Policy outlines the information we collect, how

By using the BoxyBSD platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in

When you sign up for BoxyBSD, we collect the following information:

Username: Your chosen identifier on the platform.
Password: A secure password for authenticating your account.
Email Address: Your email address for communication and account-related notifications.
Matrix Address: Your Matrix protocol user account identifier for messaging and
related communications.
GitHub User: Your GitHub username for integrations with the platform and
authentication processes.
SSH Public Key: We collect your GitHub-provided SSH public key for secure authentication
and login functionality on the provisioned VPS instances. This allows us
to bypass the need for using additional passwords and enhances security.

Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect any of the following types of information:

Payment Information: Since the BoxyBSD service is completely free, no payment
or credit card information is ever collected.
Personal Information: We do not collect any sensitive personal details such
as your name, physical address, gender, or other
similar data.

2. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is used solely for the following purposes:

Account Creation and Management: To facilitate the creation and management of your user
account on BoxyBSD.
Authentication: To verify your identity and allow you to access your
BoxyBSD account and related services securely.
Service Operation: To provision and manage your virtual private server
(VPS) instances using your GitHub SSH public key.
Communication: To send you updates, notifications, and other relevant
information related to your account or BoxyBSD project.
Security: To ensure the security of the BoxyBSD platform and
prevent unauthorized access we simply use the SSH
public key(s) from GitHub for further authentication.

3. Data Retention
We will retain your information for as long as you maintain an active account on BoxyBSD.
If you decide to delete your account, we will remove your personal information from our
systems, subject to any legal obligations we may have regarding data retention.

4. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure,

(e.g., HTTPS) and encryption where applicable. However, please be aware that no system is
