User Verification
We keep BoxyBSD as privacy-friendly as possible. We only ask for a username and an email address (used for notifications). Because we collect so little data, verification helps protect the platform from abuse. We verify ownership of your GitHub or Codeberg account with a simple public file.
Step by step

Sign up on BoxyBSD.
Enter your GitHub or Codeberg username during registration. -
Create a public repository.
In your GitHub or Codeberg account, create a repository named exactly:boxybsd_verification. -
Add the verification file.
Inside that repository, create a text file namedverification.txtwith this exact content:7x7UMf3ccxghrajsmjpg7sxr3WCLhM4dqUUNxF3mHLehifcuJJ

Make sure it is public.
You should be able to open the file in your browser without logging in, for example:
GitHub:https://github.com/<yourusername>/boxybsd_verification/verification.txt
Codeberg:https://codeberg.org/<yourusername>/boxybsd_verification/src/branch/main/verification.txt -
Automatic check.
Our system looks for that exact string in your repository. When it is found, your BoxyBSD account is verified.
Good to know
- The repository name must be
boxybsd_verificationand the file must beverification.txt. - The file content must match exactly. Do not add extra text, spaces, or line breaks.
- No additional personal data is required. No phone verification or ID upload.
Once verified, you can start using BoxyBSD right away.
